FACILITIES:

Casterton Primary School is an excellent educational facility.  The three well-appointed teaching blocks incorporating wet areas, open spaces and withdrawal rooms, are complimented by a spacious administration block, a modern canteen and an excellent art room.  The extremely well resourced library services both the school and local community.  The excellent school gardens and grounds compliment the modern building design.  A Youth Club and surrounding grounds provide excellent facilities for indoor and outdoor sports and recreational activities.  A well appointed playground provides a safe play and out-door environment.

CURRICULUM:

We pride ourselves in providing planned and structured curriculum programs spanning prep to year 6 in the Key Learning Areas of:  English, Mathematics, Science, Studies of Society and Environment, Physical Education and Health, the Arts and Technology.  A strong emphasis is placed on the acquisition of literacy and numeracy skills.  Well-developed policies and programs enable us to monitor and report on the progress of the students.  Regular and in depth program evaluation ensures that school programs are relevant and focussed on the needs of the students and the community.  Student outcomes are monitored through the Curriculum and Standards Framework student achievement data as well as through formal and informal teacher assessment.
